Exporting Data and Creating Backups

Exporting Data

Sales Data

1. Go to Dashboard > Reports > Sales
2. Apply filters (date range, products, employees)
3. Click Export
4. Choose format: CSV, Excel, or PDF
5. The file will download automatically

Inventory Data

1. Go to Dashboard > Inventory > Products
2. Click the export button
3. Choose which fields to include
4. Export as CSV for spreadsheet editing

Customer Data

1. Navigate to Dashboard > Clients
2. Click Export
3. All customer data exports with purchase history

Automated Backups

RetailCore performs automatic daily backups of all your data.

Manual Backup

1. Go to Dashboard > Backup
2. Click Create Backup Now
3. Backups are stored securely and available for 30 days
4. Download backup as JSON for offline storage

Restore from Backup

1. Go to Dashboard > Backup
2. Select a backup from the list
3. Click Restore
4. Confirm the restore (this will overwrite current data)

Best Practices

• Export critical reports monthly for offline records
• Create a manual backup before major changes
• Store backups in a secure, separate location
• Test backup restoration periodically

Note: Data exports respect your user permissions. You can only export data you have access to.
