Barcode Scanner Troubleshooting

Scanner Not Working

Check Physical Connections

• Ensure the scanner is properly plugged in
• For Bluetooth scanners, check pairing status
• Try a different USB port
• Restart the scanner

Configuration Issues

Most scanners work in HID Keyboard mode by default. If not:

1. Scan the configuration barcode from your scanner's manual
2. Ensure it's set to USB Keyboard or HID POS mode
3. Test in a text editor first

Scanning Wrong Data

Prefix/Suffix Characters

Some scanners add回车 or tab characters:

• Check your scanner's manual for "suffix" settings
• Set suffix to Enter or None
• Configure in POS settings under Hardware > Scanner

Incomplete Reads

• Clean the scanner window with a soft cloth
• Ensure barcodes are not damaged or faded
• Adjust scanning angle — 15-30 degrees is optimal

Slow Scanning

• Reduce scan area to avoid reading multiple barcodes
• Disable continuous scan mode if enabled
• Check for interference (other wireless devices)
